I find it hard to believe that i would ever ever post a personal ad on sites such as cragislist, but nonetheless i find myself browsing through them every day in the computer lab. And im not even looking for a relationship, persay. Its just funny to read some of them. I never realized how desperate people can sound in the way they write.
There certainly are some well written ones out there, but a majority of the ones i come across just sound boring and desperate and weak. Come on people.
All im saying is set yourself apart. Dont be generic, thats just boring. I mean sure, on the otherhand its not like people want to hear about how wild or odd or eccentric you are, but im sure they would like to get a little taste of what you are all about.
Point: Personal Ads are lame.
And what about the pictures? I mean come on. If you really want responses, id suggest posting pictures that make you look good. Dont post ones of you getting drunk with your buddies. And dont just do face shots! People judge by the photo. It may sound shallow, but its true.
Bad Description Examples:
1. "Hi, my name is Ras and I like to live healthy by eating good"-First: Brush up on your grammar. Second: First point you really want to make is that you enjoy eating healthy?!
2. "That is why I went to the Planned Parenthood to have my private parts tied too early"- WHAT!?! Not something id disclose in a personal ad.
3. "A little about my fascination with larger ladies: I love women who carry their weight in their butt and thighs." - OH MY GOD. All i can say.
I just dont get it. There were even some asking just for marriage because they want to start a family asap. Come on people. Get real.

Valentine's Weekend
I am so totally tired after this weekend. I have never worked so much!! I worked 12.5 hours straight on saturday and it was our busiest day ever. I didn't get home til 1 in the morning. Then i had to work at ten the next day. Ughh. So tiring.
Yesterday, Monday, my mom and I met my sister in Fairfield at the Nut Tree and we drove to red bluff to see our new house ( a model of it at least). What a long drive. 1.5 hours to Fairfield, then 2 hours to red bluff. Then 2 hours back to Fairfield to pick up our car, then 1.5 hours to Santa Rosa to get my brother from my dads house. Then 2 hours back home. Ridiculous. I;m never driving that much in one day again.
We have a 2007 Yaris, and it already has upwards of 80,000 miles on it. I think thats crazy and not right. We've only had it for a year and a half!!!
But anyways back to Valentines weekend. It was lame. End of Story. There's a current situation between my Coworker OE and I, and the pressure of valentines really made everything worse.
I guess im going to hate valentines with a passion until i have a valentine of my own. Maybe ill see the point, cuz right now i definitely dont.

Nothing in Particular
Im a little surprised that i havent posted nearly as many blgos this week. I usually do about three a week, but this one is my first since last week. Wow.
Valentine's Day is coming up here really quick, and im not looking forward to it. My work, Bocconato, is having a vday dinner. We are already extremely overbooked with reservations. Upwards of 60 people coming in i believe. All between 530 and 830. Ugh. It'll be cute though. Giovanni, boss and head chef, is making all these special entrees. Were also having a love letter writing contest. Best love letter gets a free bottle of really nice italian wine (we happen to have one of the best wine lists around, local and Italian.) We're also doing <3>
My grandparents, every year for Christmas, give everyone in the family a trip somewhere. We all go together, all 25 of us. Let's see, we've been on a cruise to mexico, hawaii, and some dude ranches up in oregon and upper CA. This saturday were finding our where we are going this year. =] Sad thing is, i cant go. Im working. Oh well. Gotta make that money. hopefully its somewhere exciting. They'e been telling us for years they're going to take us to Europe one of these years, mayeb this is it. But either way, its just nice to spend a couple days with family. Aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents. Its all exciting. We're all reall close too.

Workkk.
Okay, so work has been extremely stressful lately and i find it more and more difficult to even show up. I work at an italian restaurant as an Assistant Sous Chef and dishwasher. I go to school monday through thursday, and work friday through sunday. I have such a hectic schedule! Fridays and saturdays i work 1130AM-1030PM, and sundays 1130AM-330PM. It doesnt seem like a lot, but in the restaurant business it is literally forever.
Ive been there for 7 months now, and at the beginning i totally loved it. I've learned how to make some amazing food, and have become quite the chef. I really enjoy cooking, especially this out of this world Italian food. We have some really great reviews in the SacBee and online, and recently we had a woman from a New York radio show come and do a piece on us. Winter has been a really hard time for us, business is really slow and its harder and harder to get customers. Summer is going to be absolutley crazy though. On a good night now, we get about 40-50 customers, and thats a lot. During summer though, we'll get about 100-150 a night. Crazy. But that means crazy good tips too. =]
I'm looking for another job though, and when i find one, im quitting this one. I just think itd be nice to get the weekends off once in a while, and have some free time. We're only open thursday-Monday, so its already hard to get time off. Im really extremely close with my bosses and coworkers though, and it'll be sad to leave them. Then again, i live five minutes away and will probably eat there as much as possible.
Its called Bocconato Trattoria. Check it out. Its really amazing and worth the drive to Somerset. Come visit!
